Professor Keith Ho from SES named Highly Cited Researcher by Clarivate Analytics for fourth consecutive year
Professor Keith Ho Wing-kei of the Department of Science and Environmental Studies has been recognised as a 2021 Highly Cited Researcher by Clarivate Analytics. This is the fourth consecutive year he has been named in the list of most influential researchers.
The list indentifies researchers who have demonstrated significant influence in their fields through the publication of multiple highly cited papers during the last decade. Researchers are selected for their exceptional performance in one or more of 21 fields, with their publications ranked in the top 1% by citations for their field during the year in the Web of Science. In 2021, 6,602 of the world’s researchers (around 0.1%) from over 70 countries and regions (including 79 scholars in Hong Kong), earned the distinction.
Professor Ho is interested in a wide array of research areas. These include environmental remediation, nanotechnology, solar photocatalysis, air pollution control and indoor air quality. He is also keen in promoting science education. Professor Ho’s abiding dedication to scientific research has won him numerous recognitions. He is on Stanford University’s list of the world’s top 2% of scientists for 2019 and 2020, and won the Early Career Award 2013/14 from the Research Grants Council of the HKSAR Government, the President’s Award for Outstanding Performance in Research (Research Excellence Award) 2018/19, and the Early Career Research Excellence Award 2014/15 from The Education University of Hong Kong.
In 2019, Professor Ho was presented with the National Innovation Award in Aerosol Technology by the Chinese Society of Particuology for his outstanding research, which has had a significant impact and contributed towards solving air pollution problems, opening up a new direction for the potential development of environmental technology.
